This course is aimed at those wishing to pursue introductory studies in IT leading to an internationally recognised and respected qualification. It provides an opportunity to gain early recognition of your IT skills.
Entry Requirements:
(Pre-registration with the BCS is required)
• Age: 19 years and over
• No formal qualifications (GCE A/S level recommended).
• Knowledge of English
Course Structure:
This is the foundation level of BCS Professional Examinations. This level is the academic equivalent to Year 1 of a UK university honours degree Students will study the following compulsory core modules:
• Information Systems
• Software Development
• Computer & Network Technology
Method of Assessment:
2 hour written exam focusing on all three core modules.
Progression:
On successful completion of the Certificate in IT are eligible to apply for BCS Associate Membership (AMBCS) and can proceed to the BCS Diploma in IT.
