This course is suitable for those persons wishing to pursue a career in finance but who are unsure of which specific area to specialise in. The course provides a solid, well-balanced accounting professional course where students learn the thoroughly the key elements of accounting combined with technical skills. The CAT internationally recognised and respected.
Entry Requirements:
(Pre-registration with the ACCA is required)
No formal qualifications are required, but applicants must demonstrate sufficient competence in English
Course Structure:
Must complete nine examinations, split into three Levels:
Certified Accounting Technician scheme
Introductory Level
• Paper 1 Recording Financial Transactions
• Paper 2 Information and Management Control
Intermediate Level
• Paper 3 Maintaining Financial Records
• Paper 4 Accounting for Costs
Advanced Level
• Paper 5 Managing People and Systems
• Paper 6 Drafting Financial Statements
• Paper 7 Planning - Control and Performance Management
(any two from the following)
• Paper 8 Implementing Audit Procedures
• Paper 9 Preparing Taxation Computations
• Paper 10 Managing Finances
Method of Assessment:
There are 2 CAT exam sittings per year in June and December. Introductory and Intermediate level subjects are assessed either by a 2-hour paper or computer based examinations. The Advanced level modules and options are assessed by paper based examinations.
Progression:
On successful completion of the Introductory and Intermediate Level students to progress can to the Advanced Level or gain entry to the ACCA professional course.
