All Students must have minimum 80% average attendance
All Stutends must attend their course full-time (i.e a minimum of 15 hours per week over a minimum of three days).
Students will be marked as: Present –P, Absent-A, Authorised late-P, Sick/Leave/Holiday-L. Unauthorised Sick/Leave/Holiday/ lateness –A (absent).
LATENESS POLICY:
If student arrives 15 minutes after the class starts, students will be marked late
If student arrives 30 minutes after the class starts, student will be marked absent.
On consistent lateness of 3 contacts, will be marked as absent.
NON-ATTENDANCE WARNINGS
On consistent absence of 3 expected contacts (e.g. morning class – one contact, afternoon class – another contact; two contacts in a day), first written warning letter will be issued.
On consistent absence of 6 expected contacts, second written warning will be issued.
On consistent absence of 10 expected contacts ,without the sponsor’s reasonably granted permission, be reported to the UKBA within 10 working days of the 10th missed contactand be deregistered and excluded from the College.
MEDICAL/SICKNESS POLICY:
A student cannot be on medical/sickness leave for more than 3 consecutive expected contacts (sessions) without a medical certificate/ GP prescription/Hospital letter (evidence of sickness). Otherwise, he/ she will be marked absent.
COMPASSIONATE EXTENUATING CIRCUMSTANCES:
Absences through compassionate extenuating circumstances could be excused (through MCL Board Meeting) but must be supported with evidence and explanation.*
